The Spiderman Heart is a hand gesture that turns Spider-Man's web-shooting pose into a linked heart shape, popularized on TikTok in April 2023 by @tingting_laii as part of a set of hand tricks learned in Korea. The gesture exploded weeks later during the June 2023 release of Across the Spider-Verse, with creators like @larissa_kimberlly_ pulling tens of millions of views on single clips.

Overview

Participants hold both hands palm-forward, tuck the middle and ring fingers down to mimic Spider-Man's web-shooting pose, then interlock the forefingers and loop each pinky around the opposite forefinger to form a small heart in the center1. The move looks tricky at first and most tutorials walk viewers through it finger by finger, which is a big part of why the clips travel well on TikTok2.

Typical videos are short, soundtracked, and shot in selfie mode, with the creator either demoing the pose solo or doing it alongside a Spider-Verse edit3. By mid-June 2023, the gesture had been widely paired with a Playboi Carti remix of "I'mma Do My Own Thing," which became the de facto audio for the trend4.

On April 7th, 2023, TikToker @tingting_laii uploaded a video walking viewers through several hand gestures she said she picked up in Korea, with the "Spider-Man heart" shown as the fifth trick1. That clip accumulated more than 17.2 million views in its first two months and introduced the move to a wide audience well before the Spider-Verse film tie-in made it inescapable5.

The gesture itself predates the viral post as a Korean hand-pose craft, but @tingting_laii's demonstration is the earliest documented post that framed it under the "Spider-Man heart" name on TikTok5.

How It Spread

The trend accelerated after Sony released Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on June 2nd, 2023, giving creators an obvious pop-culture hook for the pose5. On June 11th, @itsnotevennataly posted a version that gathered more than 7.1 million views in five days2. Two days later, @larissa_kimberlly_ uploaded a clip that collected over 26 million views in three days, one of the single biggest surges for the trend3.

On June 14th, @brookemonk_ joined in with a video that gained more than 3.2 million views in two days, pulling the gesture further into the mainstream TikTok lifestyle corner of the app4. Around the same time, creators like @chr1st1n3_ac6, @thatasiangirl20007, @po1ives8 and @kgosi.2s3xy9 posted their own takes, often set to the Playboi Carti "Sovereign" remix that became attached to the trend5.

By late June the pose had settled into the TikTok vocabulary of hand tricks alongside the finger heart, with tutorial duets and slow-motion breakdowns helping viewers who could not nail the finger loop on the first try5.
