A warped SpongeBob SquarePants animation set to a mashup of The Banana Splits and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme songs blew up on TikTok in October 2026, with absurdist edits spilling onto YouTube and X. Tra La La SpongeBob fuses audio from a web series called Ethan's Clubhouse with cartoon animation traced from a 2019 OneyPlays rap battle, combining more than a decade of past internet references into a brainrot package. By mid-October 2026, a single X post about the clip had passed 3.4 million views.

Overview

Each clip sets a wobbly SpongeBob SquarePants outside his pineapple house against the kazoo-driven 'Tra La La' refrain from The Banana Splits, blended into a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse mashup first posted by TikToker @ethansclubhouse1. Editors typically stretch and deep-fry the animation so SpongeBob flops around like a melting toy, matching the chaotic brainrot aesthetic that defined 2026 TikTok humor4.

Beyond the straight audio-visual edit, posts riff on the song's bouncy rhythm by syncing it to unrelated characters or scenes from The Banana Splits Movie, with captions playing up SpongeBob's exaggerated expressions5. The animation itself borrows liberally from older internet art, including a Zach Hadel sequence from his 2017 video 'Get Out of My Car'3.
