Overview

The meme centers on the song's hook, in which the smiley-faced assistant sings a soft, plaintive "hey, it's me, it's Verity," a line fans clip out and stitch into their own edits1. Common versions keep the vocal intact but swap the character's yellow face for a fatter, ruder, or unrelated cartoon stand-in, with the earnest sing-song delivery doing the comedic heavy lifting2.

Because the source is a fan tribute rather than official Verity material, the tone sits somewhere between sincere and ironic, which lets creators push edits toward shock humor, cover songs, or oddly specific visual jokes without breaking the format4. The character being a horror-ARG antagonist adds a second layer, since the sweet melody sits under a design that fans of the ARG read as sinister3.

How to Use This Meme

The typical edit keeps the Horror Skunx audio and cuts the visuals. Common approaches include replacing Verity's face with a differently-shaped yellow character (as with Obesity), doing a lip-sync cover, or pairing the vocal with an unrelated image whose expression matches Verity's, then punning on the name in the caption ("it's me, it's nudity," and similar swaps).
