Overview

Barf Simmons, also spelled Barf Symptons, is a series of Simpsons memes built around a blue, elongated version of Bart Simpson rendered in a creepypasta-flavored horror aesthetic1. The character has bluish skin, a green shirt instead of the usual orange, and a stretched neck, usually shown in grainy low-light footage1.

The format covers still images of the character lurking in alleyways and more elaborate video edits that splice Barf into low-quality clips from other cartoons like Family Guy3. The lo-fi look and off-model design are the whole joke, sitting somewhere between analog horror and a shitpost.

On July 7th, 2026, the TikTok account @barfsymptons posted a grainy image of an altered Bart Simpson with blue skin, a green shirt, and an elongated neck, standing in an alleyway at night2. That post picked up over 1,600 views in its first month and is the earliest known Barf Simmons upload2.

The same account kept posting through July and into August, moving from static images to sound-driven video edits and slowly building a small following around the character3.

How It Spread

Barf Simmons started breaking out in mid-August 2026 as @barfsymptons pushed into higher-effort video edits. On August 16th, the account posted a Barf-ified version of the Robert Loggia meme that pulled in more than 1.2 million views within five days4.

A follow-up edit on August 17th, showing Bart Simpson meeting Barf Simmons face to face, racked up over 784,000 views in four days5. As the clips spread, other creators jumped in: on August 20th, 2026, X user @VetroxFNBR posted a mock announcement that Barf Simmons was coming to Fortnite, which pulled in over 14,000 likes in a day6. The next day, YouTube channel Lessons In Meme Culture published an explainer on the character that cleared 66,000 views in under 24 hours3.

How to Use This Meme

Barf Simmons edits typically drop the blue, long-necked Bart into existing meme footage or Simpsons scenes, often over grainy VHS-style filters and ambient horror sound. Creators commonly recycle recognizable clips (the Robert Loggia bit, Family Guy cutaways) and swap in Barf where a character would normally appear, letting the off-model design carry the unease.
