Overview

Enoch J TikTok Duets is a TikTok trend built on Dueting videos by @enochj_, a creator who films himself in his car delivering flirty roleplay scenarios aimed at women, usually accompanied by prolonged eye contact and lip licking1. The joke of the Duets is the reaction: posters pair his earnest come-ons with disbelief, mimicry or outright rejection to amplify the awkwardness viewers already saw in the originals2.

The format split into two main modes. The earliest Duets stuck to straight reactions, with people playing the "you" he's addressing and refusing him on camera2. By July 2022, a second mode took over, with users cropping their own faces onto his, keeping only his mouth and beard visible so the lip movements became puppet-like edits similar to Monkey Haircut remixes5.

On June 23rd, 2021, TikTok user @enochj_ posted a car selfie imagining he was a waiter flirting with the viewer, a video that drew about 3.6 million plays and 262,400 likes within a year1. Hours later the same day, TikToker @jaethebrand posted the earliest widely circulated Duet, playing the recipient of the pitch and rejecting him for the camera; that reply pulled roughly 1.9 million plays and 356,900 likes over the following year2.

From there the Duet format took hold as the response pattern to @enochj_'s broader catalog, with viewers treating his content as cringe-bait meant to be answered rather than watched straight3.

How It Spread

After the June 2021 Duets took off, users dug back into @enochj_'s older posts. On August 7th, 2021, @winterrtek Dueted a May 22nd, 2021 video with mock disbelief at the "look" he claimed to give for love, pulling about 2.4 million plays and 709,500 likes over eleven months3. Ten days later, @sopdhe lip-dubbed the same clip for roughly 1.9 million plays and 551,400 likes in the same window4.

The trend's second peak came in July 2022. On July 3rd, @enochj_ posted "Eye contact 👀," asking "What's up, baby girl?" at an imagined red light, which hit around 13 million plays and 687,100 likes in twelve days1. On July 5th, @domiana4ever Dueted it by drawing his facial hair onto her own face and lip-dubbing along5, and @iwanttodomitski remade the bit the next day for about 2.2 million plays and 404,500 likes6.

By July 9th, 2022, creators moved to a stitch-based face-swap style, keeping only his mouth visible. @blonde.girlyy's version from that day drew around 13.4 million plays and 3.1 million likes in six days6. @hunkyhandsome's July 9th take became the branch that got Dueted further, followed by @kinkinkinaroo on July 11th and @mason_alderson on July 13th, whose version pulled roughly 1.7 million plays and 311,100 likes in two days6.
