Flutterrage / Flutterbitch is a brony fandom nickname for the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic character Fluttershy whenever she snaps out of her usual shy demeanor and turns cruel or unhinged. It started with the May 2011 Season 1 finale and spawned a stack of Sparta Remixes, exploitable reaction faces, and the shouted catchphrase "You're going to LOVE ME!"

Overview

Flutterrage, also called Flutterbitch or Psychoshy, is the fandom shorthand for the moments when Fluttershy drops her soft, timid personality and goes full villain. The joke works because it flips a well established character: kindness pony turns into wide eyed, teeth baring aggressor, and fans lean into the whiplash1. The look, mouth open, eyes bulging, mane thrown back, became a plug and play reaction face for anger, obsession, or unhinged excitement4.

The format shows up in three main flavors. There is the still image exploitable of her screaming face, which fans photoshop into other scenes or slap over unrelated text4. There is the fan art angle, where artists redraw her mid tantrum or push the design darker into a proper "Flutterbitch" alter ego. Then there is the audio side, where the shouted line from the show is chopped into Sparta Remixes and other remix formats popular with the brony scene at the time3.

The character moment that kicked it off came from the Season 1 finale of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, "The Best Night Ever," which aired May 6, 2011. Fluttershy spends the Grand Galloping Gala trying to befriend the animals in the palace gardens, they keep bolting from her, and her patience slowly cracks over the course of the night1. The scene climaxes when she bursts into the ballroom chasing a stampede of animals and screams "You're going to LOVE ME!" at them3.

Fans clipped that outburst almost immediately and started calling this version of the character Flutterrage, Flutterbitch, or Psychoshy4. The nickname pool expanded when the Season 2 premiere "The Return of Harmony, Part 1" put Fluttershy under the influence of the trickster Discord, who inverts each pony's Element of Harmony, turning her from the Element of Kindness into an openly cruel version of herself2.

How It Spread

The finale scene traveled fastest as a YouTube clip, where the "You're going to LOVE ME!" moment got isolated, looped, and passed around brony forums as the definitive Flutterrage cut3. From there it became one of the go to source clips for Sparta Remixes in the fandom, with editors stretching the scream into the genre's signature stutter beat4.

Alongside the remixes, the screaming face turned into a standalone exploitable. Fans pasted it over other MLP screenshots, dropped it into image macros for anything involving forced affection or barely contained rage, and drew original Flutterbitch fan art that pushed her design meaner and sharper4. The Season 2 Discord arc gave artists a second canon anchor to build on, since the show itself had now depicted a genuinely mean Fluttershy on screen2.

Within brony spaces, "You're going to LOVE ME!" settled in as one of the more quoted lines from the early seasons, sitting next to other fandom catchphrases pulled from the show4. The meme is tied tightly to that 2011 to 2012 window of peak brony output and reads today as a classic artifact of that era rather than an actively growing format.

How to Use This Meme

The typical move is to pair the wide eyed screaming Fluttershy face, or the shouted "You're going to LOVE ME!" line, with a situation involving forced friendliness, clinginess, or a sudden temper flip4. Remix editors often cut the scream into Sparta Remix templates, while image posters commonly slap the face onto reaction shots where someone's calm mask has just snapped3.
