Lady Dimitrescu is the towering vampire antagonist from Capcom's Resident Evil Village, first glimpsed in a June 2020 trailer and officially named Alcina Dimitrescu in January 2021. The character in the wide-brimmed hat triggered a wave of hornyposting, fan art, and tall-woman jokes that became one of the defining pre-release meme explosions of 2021.

Overview

Lady Dimitrescu, also called Tall Vampire Lady, Big Lady, or Lady D, is a pale aristocratic vampire in a wide-brimmed hat who hunts protagonist Ethan Winters inside her castle in Resident Evil Village1. Her official Capcom bio describes her as the mistress of the castle overlooking the village with four lords serving under Mother Miranda, and her minions, which she calls her daughters, are fused with bugs6. The sight of her ducking through a normal doorway in a brief trailer clip is what tipped players off to her unusual size and set the hornyposting in motion1.

The meme itself is less a single image macro than a cluster of tall-woman jokes, lustful reaction tweets, and fan art riffing on her proportions. Early Twitter posts leaned on existing templates like the Dick Flattening meme3 and the Lauren Phillips Lifting Alice Merchesi comparison14, while later waves fixated on specific in-game shots, especially a cutscene where Ethan watches her from behind9. Fan artists added their own takes, with illustrators like Vale drawing stylized versions that pulled thousands of retweets12.

The size gag got official backup when Resident Evil Village art director Tomonori Takano confirmed via the series' Twitter account that Dimitrescu stands over 2.9 meters (9'6'') with her hat and heels8. That number, posted on February 1, 2021, became a running punchline in captions and memes about the character.

Capcom first showed the character in the June 11, 2020 announcement trailer for Resident Evil Village, where a very tall pale woman in a wide-brimmed hat appears in several brief shots2. Gaming press immediately latched onto the "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" clip of her ducking under a doorframe, with ComicBook.com noting that reactions online were "perhaps a bit too excited" at a ten-foot vampire chasing the player1. That same day, Twitter user @alexdnz posted a tweet pairing her with the Dick Flattening meme that pulled over 3,800 retweets and 14,800 likes in seven months3.

The character stayed nameless during the hype cycle, with fans calling her Tall Vampire Lady or Big Lady until Capcom's January 21, 2021 Resident Evil Showcase5. The showcase coincided with a character description on the official Resident Evil Village site that revealed her name as Alcina Dimitrescu6, and a third trailer gave fans a longer look at her in action.

How It Spread

After the January 14, 2021 teaser dropped, @TheSphereHunter tweeted about Dimitrescu's height and racked up more than 4,100 retweets and 32,500 likes in a single day4. Within hours the character was the main hornyposting target on gaming Twitter: @KinoFabino's thirst joke pulled over 760 retweets and 4,400 likes the same day13, and @BitchAssBowie's comparison to the Lauren Phillips Lifting Alice Merchesi image hit 90 retweets and 1,300 likes in 24 hours14. The January 21 Showcase and the Alcina Dimitrescu name reveal added another spike in posts56.

On February 1, 2021, the official @RE_Games Twitter account posted a note from art director Tomonori Takano confirming that Dimitrescu is over 9'6'' with hat and heels8, which fans immediately turned into captions and bragging-rights jokes. The second big wave came on April 2, 2021, when IGN uploaded a five-minute PlayStation 4 gameplay video featuring a cutscene with Ethan watching her from behind while she's on the phone9. A still of that moment went viral the same day, with @luulubuu's reaction tweet pulling over 20,100 retweets and 155,200 likes in three days11, and @Die_Knowing posting what appears to be the earliest butt-focused hornypost about the character10.

The surge kept rolling into fan art. On April 3, 2021, artist Vale posted a Dimitrescu illustration that gained over 7,100 retweets and 39,600 likes in two days12. Mainstream gaming outlets covered the thirst wave as part of their pre-launch Village coverage1, and Know Your Meme later published and recorded a sit-down interview with Maggie Robertson, who did Dimitrescu's voice and mocap7.

How to Use This Meme

The format is loose. Posters typically pair screenshots of Dimitrescu with captions playing up her height (comparing her to doorframes, basketball hoops, or other characters) or openly thirsty one-liners about wanting her to crush, step on, or otherwise manhandle them. Reaction-image hornyposts commonly take a still from the game and layer in text, emoji, or a meme-template crop like the Lauren Phillips comparison14.
