OPSEC Level, also known as OPSEC DEMON, is a reaction meme starring Pepe the Frog and V from V for Vendetta silently rating how well or badly someone protects their identity online. It broke out of Soyjak.party imageboards in mid-2026 and became one of X and TikTok's go-to formats for roasting people who overshare personal details.

Overview

The template casts Pepe or V as silent judges reacting to captions like "OPSEC level: [rating]" or the blunt verdict "OPSEC DEMON"2. In practice the same character faces get used to either praise airtight anonymity or mock users who leak identifying details in obvious ways4. Later versions leaned into AI-generated Pepe and V clips, pushing the joke into surreal territory with warped visuals and stilted synthetic vocals1.

The meme grew out of Soyjak.party threads about operational security, a military term that online communities repurposed to describe how well someone hides their identity behind a screen3. Pepe and V got cast as the deadpan graders, and the exact first post is not on record.

The earliest well-documented artifact is a V for Vendetta clip with AI-generated vocals whose original upload date is unknown. TikToker @aethryn124 reuploaded the clip on April 18, 2026, which confirms the format was already circulating by mid-April 20261.

How It Spread

Through the summer of 2026 the format jumped from imageboards to X and TikTok, where "OPSEC level" got used as shorthand for rating anyone's ability to stay anonymous online.

On TikTok, creators like @rawhoneyisagimmick built out a series of videos applying the OPSEC judgment to different online behaviors2. Additional entries in the run kept the format visible on the platform4, with variations pushed out into late summer5.

By late August 2026, "OPSEC level" punchlines about doxxing mishaps were pulling heavy engagement on X posts, with the escalated "OPSEC DEMON" tag attached to the most extreme cases of blown anonymity3.

How to Use This Meme

The template typically pairs a Pepe or V still with a caption in the "OPSEC level: [descriptor]" format, where the descriptor is a number, an adjective, or the escalated "OPSEC DEMON" verdict6. Good OPSEC posts point at a barely visible digital footprint, while bad OPSEC posts single out one specific detail, like a reflection, a reused username, or a family member's post, that gives someone away.
