Trevor Henderson's shadowy worm artwork from 2019 took on a new life in July 2022, when a Redditor slapped a Snapchat-style caption on it reading 'Nahhhhh the eternal worm came back for connecticut 💀💀😭😭😭.' Overview

A typical post places Trevor Henderson's dim, worm-like silhouette arching above a lonely stretch of highway, with blocky white Snapchat text pasted on top reading 'Nahhhhh the eternal worm came back for connecticut 💀💀😭😭😭'2. The joke mashes together Henderson's unsettling cryptid aesthetic with the shrug-emoji panic of someone casually filming the end of the world from their car window3.

The caption likely borrows its wording from Have A Nice Life's 2008 'Deathconsciousness' track 'A Quick One Before the Eternal Worm Devours Connecticut,' though the Redditor who first paired the two never confirmed the reference3. Later edits swap Henderson's shadow worm for other long creatures while keeping the identical Connecticut panic caption, so the format works as both a horror joke and a music deep-cut nod7.
