I'll Kick Your Butt In Smash Bros. is a remixed audio clip taken from Haminations' 2019 YouTube song "Who I Am," where the animator sings the title line as a self-introduction. A September 2026 TikTok remix by @imquentinnever revived the clip, and by October 2026 it was fueling lip dub edits and dancing-character animations on TikTok, including a widely shared Homer Simpson coffee dance edit.

Overview

I'll Kick Your Butt In Smash Bros. is a short audio snippet lifted from a 2019 animated song by YouTuber Haminations, chopped and sped up on TikTok in September 2026 by user @imquentinnever1. The remix strips the line down to its hook, so creators can loop it under short dancing clips without the surrounding verse getting in the way2.

Most edits sync the audio to a character doing an exaggerated dance. Animations pairing the song with Homer Simpson shuffling with a coffee cup, a parody of the Austin Powers scene, became the signature template, while others swap Homer for Sonic and Tails or random characters hitting similar moves34. The joke lands on the mismatch, a cheerful boast about beating someone in Super Smash Bros. playing over characters who have nothing to do with Nintendo.

The audio also picked up steam during the wider Haminations Cringe trend, where TikTokers were digging back into the animator's older songs for ironic reuse5.

On December 21st, 2019, animator Haminations uploaded the music video "Who I Am" to YouTube, an autobiographical song introducing himself to viewers. At the 1:14 mark he sings the line "I'll kick your butt in Smash Bros.," and the video went on to pass 15 million views over seven years2.

The meme form of the clip started on September 11th, 2026, when TikToker @imquentinnever posted a remix of the Smash Bros. line that pulled over 1.1 million views within a month1. That remix, rather than the original song, is the audio template every later edit uses5.

How It Spread

After @imquentinnever's September 11th remix caught on, the audio moved into animation and video edits through early October 20261. On October 4th, TikToker @12wingost paired the song with the Simpsons season 35 scene of Homer dancing with a coffee cup, itself a nod to Austin Powers, and the video picked up over 1.3 million views in about a week5.

The Homer edit set the dominant template. On October 10th, @seanandrewtristnz_1505 posted a reworked version of the same Homer dance set to the audio, which pulled more than 2.2 million views on TikTok in three days and over 151,000 views when cross-posted to YouTube in the same window3. A day later, on October 11th, @matthewisweird2 swapped Homer out for Sonic and Tails from the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, with that edit passing 395,000 views in two days4.

Further TikTok edits from accounts like @nomansland4456, @.prctenn, @kemuist.ai and @w1shuw3ll followed through October 2026, mostly keeping the dancing-character structure5678. The audio was also folded into the Haminations Cringe trend on TikTok around the same time5.

How to Use This Meme

A typical edit loops @imquentinnever's remix under a short clip of a character dancing, with the beat drop lining up to the line "I'll kick your butt in Smash Bros." Creators often pick a dancing character with no connection to Smash Bros., like Homer Simpson or Sonic, so the boast reads as absurd rather than literal34.
