Locked In Ninja Low Taper Fade X Locked In Alien Remix is a TikTok mashup that fuses the Locked in Alien visual with a sung version of the Low Taper Fade meme1. It took off in late December 2024 after a remix of the song Scissorhands was paired with edits swapping the alien for streamer Ninja2.

Overview

Locked In Ninja Low Taper Fade X Locked In Alien Remix is a family of TikTok edits that stitches two late-2024 formats together: the Locked in Alien slideshow trend and the running joke about streamer Ninja needing a low taper fade1. The audio layer is a sung line, "low taper fade, the meme is massive," placed over the moody song Scissorhands by Trekkrrholymountain and Weeping Wi11ow1.

Visually, edits in this style replace the wide-eyed alien from the Locked in Alien template with Ninja, sometimes redrawn with the low taper fade haircut he was hounded about for months2. The lyric itself is lifted from a Vexbolts parody song riffing on the "Low Taper Fade Meme Is Still Massive" chant1. The combination gave TikTokers a single audio and visual kit that referenced three separate 2024 meme threads at once.

The audio side of the meme started on December 28th, 2024, when TikTok user @hepatitusba4 posted a clip asking "What is the biggest meme of 2024?" before singing "Low taper fade, the meme is massive" over the Scissorhands track most associated with Locked in Alien3. The video pulled more than 800,000 views within six days1.

The sung line intentionally borrows from a Vexbolts parody song that was already circulating as a nod to the "Low Taper Fade Meme Is Still Massive" joke about Ninja1. That layered reference, one meme audio quoting another meme audio, is what set up the visual remixes that followed.

How It Spread

On December 29th, 2024, TikToker @locked..inalien posted a slideshow featuring a photoshop of the Locked in Alien wearing a low taper fade, which pulled over 2.1 million views in five days1. The image cemented the crossover concept before anyone had made a full video edit.

Two days later, on December 31st, 2024, TikToker @notcltnedits posted the edit that most people now think of as the Locked In Ninja video, swapping the alien for Ninja and using the @hepatitusba4 remix as backing audio4. That upload passed 5.1 million views in three days1. On January 2nd, 2025, artist @artsukown posted a drawing video of Ninja styled to look like the Locked in Alien, set to the same remix, and hit 8.6 million views in a single day1.

Through January 2025, copycat sounds and further edits kept the format active on TikTok, though momentum tapered as the underlying Low Taper Fade Ninja joke aged out1.

How to Use This Meme

Edits in this format typically start from the Locked in Alien visual template, then swap in Ninja, often redrawn with a low taper fade2. Creators commonly pair the visual with the @hepatitusba4 remix of Scissorhands or one of the copycat sounds that spread alongside it1. Slideshow posts and short animated redraws are the most common variants.
