Oh Crap
Published September 15, 2026
Oh Crap, also known as OMG Rage Face, is an exploitable rage comic drawing that first showed up in a 2009 forum strip about a wife being tricked into testing nonexistent PlayStation 3 games. The face bounced across FunnyJunk, Reddit, and Tumblr under nicknames like raisin face and Ashraf face, becoming one of the core reaction panels in the rage comic template.
Overview
The drawing is a wide-eyed, open-mouthed cartoon head, usually paired with red or white all-caps text that spells out the character's stunned realization or seething anger2. In a rage comic strip, it lands in the punchline panel to signal astonishment, revelation, or full frustration, and the meaning shifts based on what the accompanying caption says1. The same exact drawing got reused for both the shocked beat and the raging beat, which is why comment threads kept assigning it different nicknames over the years1.
Outside the standard black-and-white line-art version, illustrator Sam Spratt drew a photorealistic take on Oh Crap / OMG Rage Face in July 2011, which gave the drawing a second life as a piece of standalone fan art rather than a comic panel3. Within rage comic lore, the same face was also assigned as the visual for a Gropaga, a follower of the Inglip web comic universe2.

How to Use This Meme
The typical convention is to drop the face into the final panel of a rage comic and pair it with red or white all-caps text that states the character's inner reaction, whether that is shock, sudden realization, or open frustration1. Common uses include the moment a character figures out they've been fooled, discovers a hidden downside, or reacts to a small betrayal like raisins in what looked like chocolate chip cookies2.
