What is Saddest Man Alive?

A fake-tweet comic by scramratz pairing a 'Saddest man alive' portrait with a 'Most beautiful woman you've ever met' portrait, used as an affirming reply to trans transition photo posts.

What does Saddest Man Alive mean?

It flips a bigoted 'look what the left has done' talking point into an unintentional compliment, praising trans women's transitions rather than mocking them.

How do you use Saddest Man Alive?

Reply to a pre- and post-transition photo pair with the two-panel comic, or redraw the layout swapping in different characters or photographs.

Is Saddest Man Alive still popular?

Saddest Man Alive / Most Beautiful Woman You've Ever Met is a fake-tweet comic drawn by Tumblr artist scramratz in August 2023, mocking a bigoted 'AryanChud69' account complaining about trans women. The two-panel bit was flipped by the internet into a sincere reaction template for pre- and post-transition photo pairs, sparking a redraw wave in late 2025.

Overview

The image is a fake screenshot of an X post from an account named AryanChud69, captioned 'Look at what the left has done to our men.' Beneath the caption sit two hand-drawn panels: a hollow-eyed guy labeled 'Saddest man alive' next to a beaming woman labeled 'Most beautiful woman you've ever met'1.

Because the source bit is already a self-parody of transphobic discourse, posters use it earnestly, dropping it under trans creators' timelines as a compliment rather than a jab. On TikTok, creators kept the voiceover approach alive with their own takes on the comic3 4.

Tumblr artist scramratz posted the original comic on August 7, 2023, and it picked up tens of thousands of notes over the next couple of years2. The fake AryanChud69 handle plays on the slur-suffixed usernames common to bigoted X accounts of that era, and scramratz's punchline flips the intended outrage into an accidental compliment.

How It Spread

The first big off-Tumblr push arrived on August 16, 2023, when TikToker @miabyte read the comic aloud in a voiceover clip that pulled over 7,100 likes1. The format then stayed low-key for months, kept in slow circulation by other TikTok remixers3 4.

The bigger surge came in late 2025. On October 11, Threads user goldenchaos shared their own pre- and post-transition photos, and a reply from judeisaac_ paired them with the scramratz panels2. A version by u/Jissus3893 hit the r/egg_irl subreddit on November 15, and the following day goldenchaos reposted their transition pair on X, kicking off a redraw wave through the quote-retweets that included a hand-drawn entry from @SlimerSlimy.

Common uses include pairing pre- and post-transition photos of trans friends or celebrities, or redrawing the setup with characters from other franchises.
