Damn Here We Go Again, also known as Yanfry Walking, is a TikTok format based on a November 2021 clip of a young Black child nicknamed Yanfry the Tender strutting down the sidewalk with a backpack. In spring 2022, editors set the footage to the opening line of Kanye West's 'Everything I Am' to joke about walking into situations wildly unprepared. By early April 2022, the audio had powered edits about missing homework, clueless workdays and online beefs.

Overview

Posts open on Yanfry pacing down the sidewalk with the casual confidence of a grown man, with the first step hitting the moment Kanye West sings 'Damn, here we go again' in 'Everything I Am'3. Captions overlay the clip and name the situation the poster is heading into without the skills, prep or temperament to survive it, with school, work and online beefs as common choices2.

The humor comes from the gap between Yanfry's unbothered swagger and whatever grim scenario the caption describes2. Compared to the similar Ah Shit Here We Go Again line from GTA, this version trades the groan for a confident strut, so the joke lands as self-aware bravado instead of weary resignation3.

How to Use This Meme

Open on the Yanfry walking clip and sync the first step to Kanye West singing 'Damn, here we go again.' The caption typically names a situation you are heading into with no preparation, often involving school, work, class, or an online argument. The format often works best when the described scenario is cringeworthy and the on-screen walk stays confident.
