IShowSpeed GTA IV Edit is a video meme that pairs Chadified photos of streamer IShowSpeed with the main theme from Grand Theft Auto IV, styled like the game's loading screens. After a September 2026 remix went viral on X, the clip became the go-to reaction for captioning small acts of masculine effort that go unnoticed.

Overview

IShowSpeed GTA IV Edit, also called GTA Speed or the Speed GTA 4 Loading Screen Edit, is a video that slowly pans and zooms across Chadified portraits of YouTuber IShowSpeed while the melancholy piano theme from Grand Theft Auto IV plays underneath1. The visual grammar mimics the black-background character loading screens Rockstar used between GTA IV missions, which is why the format reads as instantly recognizable to anyone who played the game2.

As a reaction format, the clip is almost always captioned with a short first-person scenario about performing a manly or valiant act that gets ignored, dismissed, or immediately deflated3. The self-serious GTA IV score against airbrushed jaw-heavy Speed edits does the comedic work, framing everyday letdowns as the opening cinematic of a tragic antihero. A separate clip of IShowSpeed himself watching the meme and saying he doesn't understand what people find funny about it spread alongside the format4.

The pairing of IShowSpeed with the Grand Theft Auto IV theme was first posted on May 18, 2025, when X user @iiiwkz uploaded a short edit that set the game's main theme over a single Chadified image of Speed5. That post picked up over 11,000 likes over the following year but did not spread widely at the time.

The viral loading-screen version arrived on September 10, 2026, when X user @bourglor posted a longer edit that transitions between several Chadified Speed images with the slow pans and zooms characteristic of GTA IV's actual loading screens6. That post pulled in more than 10,000 likes within a week and established the visual template that later captioned versions copied1.

How It Spread

The format broke into wider circulation in mid-September 2026 once X users started attaching short first-person captions to @bourglor's edit. On September 15, 2026, X user @zakariasolos posted the video with the caption, "Told the barber to give me the usual and he asked who am I," which pushed past 129,000 likes in two days and became the caption template most later remixes followed3.

The next day, September 16, X user @geekedgoob posted a version captioned, "Held the door for a girl and she used the other one," which racked up more than 89,000 likes within a day7. Washington Post journalist Gene Park joined in the same day with a version reading "me watching everyone else go through it too," collecting over 4,300 likes8. Also on September 16, fan account @IShowSpeedHQ posted a clip of IShowSpeed reacting to the edit and asking, "Why are y'all laughing at these pictures... What is so funny?" which drew more than 33,000 likes and fed the format's second wave4.

From X, the clip crossed to TikTok, where uploaders including @meshalt and @gta_speed_sol reposted variants of the loading-screen edit for the app's audience9101.
