Mario Pissing is a 2016 YouTube short by Blaze the Movie Fan showing a crudely drawn Mario relieving himself off a cliff while an annoyed Goomba complains. Overview

The clip runs about a minute and features Mario, drawn in a wobbly MS Paint style with his overalls missing, urinating off a cliff before a Goomba wanders in and gets angry when Mario refuses to hop on him1. The dialogue is delivered in a flat, deadpan monotone that clashes with the crude visuals, and fans latched onto that mismatch between mundane speech and gross-out cartoon body humor5.

Remixers turned the short into a template for YouTube Poop musical videos (YTPMVs), rearranging its sounds into covers of dance tracks and video game boss themes3. Fan art riffs also spread, ranging from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate crossovers to polished redraws that mimic official Nintendo promotional art4.

Blaze the Movie Fan uploaded the original Mario Pissing video to YouTube on August 4, 20161. The short depicts a crudely animated Mario, drawn without his overalls, relieving himself off a cliff before an irritated Goomba interrupts him and demands he jump on it. The upload passed 170,000 views, and a mirror reupload picked up roughly 77,000 more5.

How It Spread

The clip sat as a cult oddity until spring 2017, when SoundCloud user PAMVLLO posted an edited version of the audio on April 14. That remix inspired an animated YouTube version uploaded on June 4 that pulled close to 100,000 views2. On November 7, 2017, YouTube Poop maker Xarlable released a YTPMV built around 'The Chicken Dance' using the clip, and a Twitter reupload from August 31, 2018 topped 4,400 likes5.

Momentum grew through 2018. On April 25, SuperWiiBros08 posted a YTPMV set to 'Fight Against an Armed Boss' from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars that passed 57,000 views3. In June, itch.io user Nebby_RBLX released an RPG Maker recreation of the scene, which streamer Vinesauce Vinny played on stream days before its public release. Later that year, Twitter user @tea_vea's November 1 post comparing Mario's urine to a golden liquid from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's World of Light cutscenes drew wide reaction, and a video version by SuperWiiBros08 topped 120,000 views6.

The remixes kept coming in December, when @pinkbitchboy posted a reanimated Smash Bros themed clip that climbed past 100,000 views and over 11,000 likes4. On January 6, 2019, Twitter user @ArcfireTW shared an HD illustration of the scene styled like official Mario artwork. Blaze the Movie Fan later distanced himself from the piece, appending '(disowned)' to its title on YouTube by July 20191.

How to Use This Meme

Fans typically use the clip as raw material for a YTPMV, chopping its dialogue and sound effects into a musical cover of a game track or pop song3. Others draw the pissing scene in styles that clash with its crude source, common conventions being polished Nintendo-style redraws or Smash Bros crossovers4.
