Stop I Don't Like This Game is a TikTok video trend from late 2022 where someone playing tag suddenly spins around mid-chase and shrieks the phrase, imitating a bratty kid throwing a tantrum right before losing. The format broke through in November 2022 after copycat clips pulled tens of millions of views.

Overview

Stop I Don't Like This Game is a video format where two friends film themselves playing tag or a similar chase game, and the person about to lose spins around and screams "STOP! I DON'T LIKE THIS GAME!" or a close variant1. The bit works because it copies the classic playground move of a sore-loser kid who calls a time-out, tries to rewrite the rules, or threatens to quit the second they are cornered3.

The clips are short and usually shot outdoors or in a driveway, and the delivery does most of the work. The scream is sudden, high-pitched, and whiny enough to sell the child-in-tantrum energy that gives the format its punchline3.

How It Spread

The format broke into wider TikTok circulation on November 21, 2022, when two versions landed on the same day3. @corbinmillet posted a version where he chases a small child who then turns the tables on him, and it pushed past 19 million views by late December 20224.

Barstool Sports uploaded their own take that same day, passing 11 million views and becoming the audio other creators sampled the most, with 167 remixes using its sound5. Once the Barstool clip's audio started spreading, more users filmed their own tag-and-tantrum videos, keeping the trend active through the end of 20223.

How to Use This Meme

To make a Stop I Don't Like This Game video, film a friend chasing you outdoors or in an open space. The chaser typically trash-talks during the run with a line like "I'm gonna get ya," and then the person being chased turns around at the last second and shrieks the phrase in the whiniest voice they can manage1. A common touch is for the chaser to stumble, fall, or bail out of surprise when the scream lands3.
