Overview

The Daycare Attendant, known to fans as Sundrop and Moondrop, is a two-faced animatronic character from the eighth mainline Five Nights At Freddy's game, Security Breach3. The design has two modes tied to lighting: when the daycare lights are on, its head is a smiling yellow sun, and when the lights cut out, the head flips into a menacing crescent moon, both sitting on a lanky clown body wrapped in ribbon-like arms6.

In the game, the character works as the mascot for the Superstar Daycare zone and doubles as the face of Sundrop and Moondrop candy, which is where fans pulled the nickname from since the game itself only labels him Sun or Moon3. Sun is chatty, jittery, and desperate to keep the player from touching the light switch, while Moon is aggressive and hunts the player character Gregory the moment darkness kicks in6.

Sundrop Moondrop Fnaf originated with Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach, the eighth mainline installment in the FNAF horror series, and first surfaced publicly in the game's February 2021 trailer3. In the finished game, players meet the friendly Sun form at the Superstar Daycare, where he tries to distract Gregory from cutting the power behind the desk. Once the lights die, Sun screams for them to come back on before transforming into Moon, who climbs onto the desk muttering "naughty boy" and telling the player it's past bedtime, which kicks off the character's chase boss fight6.

How to Use This Meme

Fans typically draw Sundrop and Moondrop as either two separate characters or one figure mid-transformation, playing on the sun-side sweetness against the moon-side menace. A common convention is casting the pair in existing meme templates, like the "Doobie Ralsei" or "Casually Approach Child" redraws that took off on Tumblr, or shipping them with other Security Breach characters in cosplay and animation edits on TikTok4.
