Miles Morales Trend

The Miles Morales Trend is a lip-sync video format on TikTok and Instagram Reels where creators pretend to be pinned to the ceiling while mouthing dialogue from the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The audio comes from a scene where Miles Morales narrates his origin story as the new Spider-Man1. Participants typically stand on a stool or chair placed just out of frame, reach one hand toward the ceiling, and sway slightly to sell the illusion that they are stuck to it like the character.

Many clips feature a second person walking into the shot and reacting with shock at the apparent superhuman feat5. Some creators push the bit further by adding web-shooter visual effects or by hiding the chair entirely so their legs appear to dangle in mid-air2.

To make a Miles Morales Trend video, creators typically set up a chair or stool just below the camera frame, jump onto it, and reach one hand up toward the ceiling while lip-syncing the Miles Morales origin lines1. Common additions include a small sway to mimic hanging, a second person walking in to act shocked, or edited web effects shot from the raised hand5.
